Yes, another one :)
I was in town last week trying to figure out a few things.
I didn't have any luck booking a daytime room before I got to Toronto.
I was wondering:
Could I just book a regular night's stay at a hotel, check in at 3pm, and leave at 10 or 11 pm ? Why should the management care, as long as I pay and am not being a public nuisance.
If this is possible then let me know, it would save me many hassles in the future.
Thanks,
Cloud

Shouldn't be a problem, i've done it before.
As you said, as long as you pay the full price it's up to you when you wanna leave.

Should not matter - As a matter of fact, This year ('02), two major international chains have charged me 1/2 days when I check out at 10-11 PM :) This maybe be common practice when they deal with their Elite customers, but then does not harm to ask.

I'd book over the internet.
Because of that I don't imagine getting any kind of discount for checking out early.
Thanks,

No you definitely cannot do this. Managers check the rooms at about 5 a.m. and get very angry if everyone is not tucked in!

Iguana,
I have done just that - arrived in the morning, conducted my "business" and left. I've never had a problem. You can usually get a day rate at most hotels which is somewhat cheaper than staying overnight.
