Perhaps you guys should auction off a fixed number of residency permits a year - institutionalize the graft.
Maybe we should do the same.....

I love how the headlines are reading that she is saying that she was brought down by people conspiring against her.
Hey Judy, how bout you look in the mirror cause that is the only person you have to blame for this. Stop whining already.

Has she been charged with any crime - I would assume it to be illegal to sell residency visas.

It's obvious you don't know much on how politics really works. If you did you wouldn't post that.

While she was wrong in what she did and should pay the price. IMHO this happens all the time and she was just unfortunate to be caught.

What is the scoop on the stripper visas anyway?
Any of your favourite strippers been banished to their homes yet?
I am guessing there are plenty of loopholes in this new ruling..
any retractions from those who claimed she was guilty? good article by geoffrey simpson in friday's globe - no apologies from opposition members who hounded her from office before getting the facts.

I did not read the article, but did watch some of the coverage on the news.
From my understanding, she was found not guilty of any "wrongdoings" (i cannot remember the term that they used). Essentially, she claims that she did not know that the stripper was working for her campaign or had worked on her campaign when she gave her this special treatment...
But what special circumstances would lead to giving a free pass to a stripper.
Was the stripper in immediate danger upon returning to her home country?
Why would Ms. Sgro have taken this unusual step in providing this particular young lady with a free pass???
Perhaps it will be revealed that Ms. Sgro is a lesbian, and the lady was her lover...
Either way, it just does not make sense... perhaps they could not prove that there was any wrongdoings, but that does not mean Ms. Sgro is not guilty

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the courts can't prove an allegation of wrondoing, then by definition the accused is not guilty.

If the opposition doesn't get to the bottom of it, nobody will, because of the corruption in the Liberal Party of Canada. If they hadn't made the accusations, Sgro would have never stepped down. The Pizza Guy was probably told to retract what he said, and reapply to come to Canada. If not, he will never be back.

"She claims, she claims, she claims". Well I guess we still don't know the whole truth. Sgro can say what she wants to, to save face in front of a crumpling bungling Liberal government. If she has volunteers helping run a campaign, she will have met them.
The head of the inquiry isn't squeaky clean either, with a big connection to the Federal Liberal party, and business sent his way.
So you are right. Can't prove what is covered up, but that doesn't prove that she isn't guilty.

people were willing to find her guilty based on the accusations of that the pizza guy, but now that he has retracted his statement, apologized, and been found to be a con artist, no-one is willing to belief she isn't guilty- nice

You are so right. The Press/Mr. Harper all said this was a case of a corrupt and immoral government. When the entire story comes out - the women is a victim of a slim ball.
Makes me wonder if the urgency the Bloc and Mr. Harper have about having an election before Gomery is settled, is that they fear that Mr. Martin will be cleared of any wrong doing and in fact has helped clean the mess left by Chrietien up.
