Looks like cooler heads will prevail. Since my busines relies on good trade with the USA I hope to see some positive changes.
It would be nice if NAFTA would be expanded throughout the Americas.
Early in his tenure GWB had hinted at a "Free Trading Zone of the Americas".
Could this be the first step. Certainly by population South America represents a substantial market.

A good idea whose time has come. Let's just hope this time we send someone a little bit more adept that the buffoons and yes-men who negotiated the existing agreement.

I think the first Nafta was a "light intro version" to get people used to the idea. Just remember how difficult it was to get it through in the USA. Clinton certainly stepped on some toes within his own party.
Now that some of the benefits are becoming clear, maybe the climate is better for a more sweeping contract.

....only because the Republicans pushed real hard for it...of course it did'nt go far enough....It's still here....
